Airport Taxi drivers take a tour guide class.
Last may, board members of Airport Taxi decided to offer the drivers to take a tour guide class, the goal was to have the drivers ready to guide people and talk about the route they are driving and tell people about Iceland and Icelandic history connected to the route and with that in mind, better drivers. One of the class´s theme was the drivers appearance and how to handle needs of different passengers. We got experienced tour guide, Stefán Helgi Valsson to talk to the drivers and tell them about tour guiding. He went over the main things connecting to tour guiding and what to expect concerning safety. The main tourist locations were covered, who they are and what to focus on on each place like hidden dangers. The class that expand for two night was extremely well attended by the drivers and there is no doubt that a class like this helps people in this area or work and the drivers all agreed that this was time well spent.
